Khairpur police’s anti-drug operation results in arrest of 02 suspects, charas recovered, case registered

Khairpur police, during a targeted operation on the National Highway on Sunday, arrested two alleged members of an inter-provincial drug peddling group and seized 14 kilograms of high-quality charas, effectively disrupting a major smuggling route between Balochistan and Sindh.

In a press conference on Sunday, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gambat, Abdullah Afzal, along with Station House Officer (SHO) Babarloi, Allah Wadhayo Patafi, shared details of the successful operation. He confirmed that a police contingent, acting on a tip-off from a secret informant and under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Khairpur Dr. Samiullah Soomro, conducted a snap-check at Qazi Koh.

This sting operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals, identified as Sher Zaman son of Habibullah Khan Kakar and Sardar Muhammad son of Khan Muhammad Achakzai. Both individuals hail from the Quetta district of Balochistan.

Authorities seized a total of 14 kilograms of charas and the Corolla car used by the accused.

During the initial investigation, the arrested individuals have allegedly confessed to their involvement in a network smuggling illegal drugs from Balochistan into Sindh province.

A formal case has been registered against the accused. Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and further significant revelations are expected as the probe progresses.
