In view of the recent deaths of 27 people in the Hyderabad cylinder blast, the Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar has directed all Deputy Commissioners across the Sindh province to shift LNG and LPG shops away from busy markets and residential areas.

According to the home department information, a letter has been issued by the Home Department to all Deputy Commissioners across the province in this regard to ensure compliance. The home minister said that illegal LNG and LPG shops should be moved out of cities besides taking action against them.

Lanjar said that inspection of LNG and LPG shops should be conducted and substandard cylinders should be confiscated with immediate effect.

The home minister further said that all LNG and LPG shops should be mandated to operate under the SOPs set by the federal government, adding they should be shifted away from busy markets and residential areas. All Deputy Commissioners should inspect LNG and LPG shops every week, he further directed.
