A police officer and a passerby were injured during an encounter on Tuesday in Naushahro Feroze district, which resulted in the arrest of wanted drug dealer Nabi Bakhsh alias Bijli Zardari, who was apprehended in an injured state. This significant operation is part of an ongoing strict crackdown across the district against drug dealers and anti-social elements, which also includes the arrest of seven other individuals and the seizure of a large quantity of illegal substances in Naushahro Feroze.
On the special directives of SSP Naushahro Feroze Mir Rohal Khan Khoso, law enforcement agencies have intensified their campaign to eradicate the menace of drugs from society. During successful operations by various police stations, seven suspected individuals were taken into custody.
Tharshah police, acting on secret information, successfully raided Kundani Ajaan village, resulting in the arrest of three individuals involved in drug sales. These include Amjad Ajaan, from whom 1040 grams of hashish were recovered, and Mehtab Ajaan and Farooq Ajaan, from whom 10 liters of liquor were seized.
Separately, Qamruddin police arrested Qamruddin Baggio and Razzaq Zardari, recovering 70 liters of liquor from their possession. Metani police, acting on secret information, apprehended the notorious drug dealer Mazhar Ali Shah, seizing 600 grams of hashish from him. It is reported that Shah was also wanted in another drug-related case.
In further operations, Fareed Dero police arrested gutka seller Zahid Ali Janwari, recovering 600 grams of harmful material from him. Legal proceedings have been initiated against these arrested individuals under the Narcotics, Drugs, and Main Pardi Gutka Act, and further investigations are underway.
The Moro police encounter occurred when officers, based on intelligence, raided a location to apprehend the fugitive and notorious drug dealer Nabi Bakhsh alias Bijli Zardari. Upon seeing the police contingent, the suspect directly opened fire on them, injuring police officer Allah Bakhsh Zardari and a passerby, Zahid Zardari.
This encounter, with police returning fire, continued for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, requiring the assistance of additional personnel. Ultimately, the notorious smuggler Nabi Bakhsh alias Bijli Zardari was cornered and arrested in an injured state, and weapons were also recovered from him.
Following the incident, SSP Naushahro Feroze Mir Rohal Khan Khoso directed Sub-Divisional Police Officer Moro, Ms. Faiza Sodhar, to visit the crime scene. SDPO Moro later went to the hospital to inquire about the injured officer and learn the details of the encounter. The injured individuals were shifted to Nawabshah Hospital for specialized medical care after initial treatment.
It is noteworthy that the arrested person, Nabi Bakhsh alias Bijli Zardari, has a significant criminal background, having previously been imprisoned in more than 19 drug-related cases. Further legal action is ongoing against the arrested drug dealer. The Naushahro Feroze district police have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing indiscriminate operations against drug dealers to completely eliminate this social menace.
