Larkana police arrest over 50 for violating Covid SOPs

LARKANA: Police arrested over 50 persons including shopkeepers after their failure to implement SOPs issued by the provincial government for prevention of coronavirus.

SSP Imran Qureshi, accompanied by police teams, conducted surprise raids on various places in Resham Gali, Shahi Bazaar, Pakistan Chowk, Station Road, Bunder Road, Royal Road, Jinnah Bagh roundabout, Bakrani Chowk, Gajanpur, Old Tank Chowk and other areas and arrested over 50 people for violating SOPs against Covid.

In Naundero as well, DSP Shahjahan Shah and SHO Shahid Memon, accompanied by cops, forced the shopkeepers in Shahi Bazaar and Station Road to close down their business during which many of the visitors were also beaten and abused for not implementing SOPs.

Even owners of grocery shops were asked to close down their business despite the fact that they have been allowed to operate for the benefit of fasting people along with medical stores. However, transport continued to operate on Larkana-Naundero-Ratodero and Naundero-Madeji routes without any check by the cops.

Even journalists were not allowed to discharge their professional duties and police also misbehaved with them which should be condemned. Police seemed very active today in implementing SOPs but have remained very negligent to control crime.
