Lawyers hail passage of Christian Marriage Bill

KARACHI: The Christian Lawyers Forum Sindh on Tuesday expressed its staunch support for the recently passed Christian Marriage Bill in the Senate of Pakistan, marking a significant stride in safeguarding the rights of Christian communities.

The bill, which prohibits the marriage of boys and girls under the age of 18, has garnered widespread acclaim from members of the forum.

In a gathering convened at the Sindh High Court Old Bar Room, members of the Christian Lawyers Forum Sindh resolved to persist in their efforts to enhance the welfare of Christian lawyers practicing in Sindh and to secure their nominations at official levels and various forums.

Zeeshan Ejaz Advocate, Coordinator of the Christian Lawyers Forum Sindh, conveyed the enthusiastic endorsement of the bill by the Christian legal fraternity. He highlighted the unanimous support garnered for the legislation, underscoring its significance in protecting the rights of young Christian individuals.

Present at the meeting were distinguished members and officials of the Christian Lawyers Forum Sindh, including Sarfaraz Khokhar Advocate, Zeeshan Ejaz Advocate, Dennis Mill Advocate, Shabana Sarfraz Advocate, Tariq Mehmood Advocate, Shamoon Advocate, Saleem Michael Advocate, Rizwan Parvez Advocate, and others.

Zeeshan Ejaz Advocate reiterated the forum's steadfast commitment to advocating for the welfare of lawyers and Christian practitioners in Sindh, both at the official level and across various platforms. Emphasis was placed on expanding the forum's engagement with the government to further its objectives effectively.
