LAHORE: Lawyers observed a partial strike in Lahore on Thursday against the murder of an advocate in Raiwind.

They did not appeared in the lower courts of Lahore division to register their protest. As a result, cases faced more delays. The Punjab Bar Council demanded arrest of the killers of lawyer Ahsan Bhatti who along with his friend in car had been shot dead by unidentified motorcycle riders at Chajju Chowk in Raiwind on June 1.

Police said that an old enmity seemed to be the reason behind the murders. They claimed to have collected evidence from the site of the incident and stated that the accused would soon be arrested. The Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) also took notice of the murders of the lawyer and his friend, and directed Lahore police to nab culprits.
