Major Crackdown Nets 30 Suspects; Significant Cache of Drugs and Weapons Seized

Islamabad police on Monday claimed to have apprehended 30 individuals and confiscated a substantial quantity of narcotics and armaments in a wide-ranging operation aimed at curbing criminal activities in the federal capital.

According to police details, teams from the Kohsar, Margalla, Karachi Company, Khanna, Lohi Bher, Shehzad Town, and Bani Gala police stations detained 16 accused persons for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

A significant seizure from the suspects included 3,362 grams of crystal meth, 150 grams of heroin, 20 bottles of liquor, 10 pistols complete with ammunition, and one dagger. Formal cases have been registered against the individuals, and further investigations are underway.

In a parallel initiative, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the arrest of an additional 14 fugitives by various law enforcement units.

The crackdown follows specific directives from IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of a sustained effort to maintain peace and tranquility in the city.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed the force”s resolve, stating, “The Islamabad Police is committed to protecting the lives and property of the residents and no elements will be allowed to disturb public peace.” He added that ensuring the safety of citizens remains the organisation”s foremost priority.

Officials have also urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the relevant police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, emphasizing that mutual cooperation is key to eradicating crime from society.
