Major Police Crackdown Nets 21 Suspects, Seizes Drugs and Firearms

Islamabad police on Friday claimed to have apprehended 14 individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities and recovered a significant quantity of illegal narcotics and firearms during a series of targeted operations.

The seized contraband includes 1,060 grams of Hashish, 370 grams of crystal meth, and three pistols complete with ammunition, according to an official police statement.

The arrests were carried out by operational teams from the Margalla, Noon, Sangjani, Phulgran, and Bani Gala police stations. Formal cases have been registered against the accused, and further inquiries are now in progress.

In a separate but related development, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the arrest of seven additional wanted criminals by various police units.

The city-wide crackdown is being conducted following specific directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of a sustained effort to dismantle criminal networks and ensure tranquility in the capital.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed the force”s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He stated that elements seeking to disturb public peace would not be tolerated and that protecting citizens remains the department”s highest priority.

Officials also encouraged public cooperation, urging citizens to immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities to their nearest police station or via the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to help eradicate crime from the community.
