Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohaib Afridi, has directed police officials to expedite investigations into recent attacks on parliamentarians in Malakand Division, highlighting the urgent need for the protection of public life and property as a top priority.
Afridi emphasized the need to equip Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) with modern weapons and technology to strengthen security efforts. He called for comprehensive and unbiased measures against activities related to terrorism and drugs, which are under a zero-tolerance policy.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of development and service delivery, ensuring full funding for the establishment of a children’s hospital and Arshad Sharif University in Swat. He emphasized the importance of constructing shelters for workers across Malakand Division and providing facilities like cool water and fans in public places.
Afridi stated that public satisfaction and prosperity should be the standard for governmental performance. He urged the administration to improve service delivery and prioritize public satisfaction, advocating open forums to address community concerns.
A briefing revealed that work is ongoing on 737 development projects in the division, with 99% of allocated funds already utilized. Additionally, the strengthening of police buildings is underway, 14 police facilitation centers are active, and three more are under construction.
By focusing on these areas, the Chief Minister aims to align governance in Malakand Division with the needs and expectations of its residents.
