Srinagar, July 27, 2020 (PPI-OT): Modi-led fascist BJP government in India is taking one after another coercive step to change the demography of occupied Kashmir and convert the Muslim majority status of the territory into a Hindu-dominated area.
According to an analytical report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, since Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, is himself a strict follower of Hindutva, a Hindu-supremacy ideology, he abrogated Article 370 of the Indian constitution to fiddle with the status and demography of the territory as the said Article was a hurdle in the way of fulfilling his evil designs in Kashmir.
The report mentions a number of steps, which New Delhi is taking since the revocation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, last year, by Modi government to pursue its sinister agenda in occupied Kashmir. It says that introduction of new domicile law is a main tactic being used by New Delhi to bring Hindus from India and settle them in Kashmir.
India is also re-arranging constituencies in occupied Kashmir to curtail the number of Muslim seats in the assembly. The report also cites the deprivation of the Kashmiris of jobs and other opportunities in their own land as another attempt by the Indian government to snatch away the dominance of Kashmiri Muslims in government departments in Kashmir.
All such moves, the report concludes, like killings, issuance of domicile certificates to non-locals, grabbing of land and closure of doors for jobs on locals are meant to affect a possible future plebiscite, granted by the United Nations to ascertain the political future of Jammu and Kashmir.
