Mother and Child Health Center Ghotki provides medical facilities to 47,397 pregnant women throughout the year

According to the annual performance report issued by District Manager PPHI Ghotki, Arif Abbasi, the Mother and Child Health Center (MCHC) in Mirpur Mathelo conducted a total of 172,689 laboratory tests in 2025, the highest number among its services. The report highlighted a significant year of improvement, during which the institution provided treatment and health facilities to thousands of local patients.

The annual report, released on Thursday, detailed the extensive support for pregnant women, with 47,397 women receiving antenatal medical care and an additional 23,386 benefiting from ultrasound services.

During 2025, the center’s medical team successfully performed 7,013 normal deliveries and 4,555 C-section operations.

For newborn care, 2,295 newborn babies were admitted to the center’s NICU for specialized treatment. Under inpatient services, a total of 7,844 patients were admitted to the ward, and 1,283 patients received blood transfusions.

The center also supported broader community initiatives, and registered 46,916 deserving women and families under the government’s social protection program. Additionally, 6,109 individuals were provided with family planning facilities.

On the occasion, DM PPHI Arif Abbasi said that these services were made possible through the support of PPHI Sindh and the district administration. He appreciated the performance of the doctors, nursing staff, paramedics, and administrative staff.

Mr. Abbasi further added that maternal and child health is the top priority of the Sindh government, and the MCHC is playing a key role in this mission. He expressed the commitment that the institution will strive to further improve its services to provide quality and timely medical facilities to the public.
