Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has voiced strong objections against the Punjab government’s decision to open the TP Link Canal amid a severe water shortage in Sindh.

Highlighting the critical 50% water deficit in the province, Shah stressed the action was irresponsible and weakened Punjab’s own position.

During his visit to the Dow University of Health Sciences on Wednesday, where he inaugurated the Comprehensive Cancer Centre and Girls Hostel, Murad Ali Shah emphasized that Sindh’s stance on the canal issue was growing stronger. He urged for a formal announcement to cease the canal projects, asserting that Sindh will continue to press its case.
