Islamabad, March 12, 2019 (PPI-OT): Meeting of the Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination, (IPC) held in Committee Room of Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad this afternoon with Agha Hassan Baloch, MNA in the chair. The Committee unanimously passed a resolution that International Cricket Council (ICC) may impose ban on Indian Cricket Team for wearing Army Caps during a one day cricket match against Australia. The Committee strongly recommended that ICC may realize the sensitivity of the issue and impose major penalty on Indian Cricket Team as it was a clear violation of code of conduct in order to prevent sports from politics.
The Committee expressed concern over the ineffective sports policy as it failed to bring its benefits at gross root level. The Committee directed that M/o Inter-Provincial Coordination, (IPC) may introduce public private partnership schemes at divisional level to generate funds in order to make Sports Units functional to cope with the requirements of the Pakistani Athletes.
The Committee directed that M/o IPC may give equal preferences to National Sports as ranking of all sports expect cricket had been declined with the passage of time due to lack of interest of the government functionaries. Earlier, Secretary, M/o IPC briefly apprised the Committee about the efforts made by them to promote sports activities in the country and problems faced by them in this regard.
