NAB takes notice of irregularities in Larkana education department

LARKANA:The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur, has detected as many as 318 fake IDs of teachers posted in entire Larkana district who were appointed during 2008-13 and their IDs were created at the office of District Accounts Officer (DAO), Larkana.

 

In this connection the watchdog has sent a call up notice under section 19 of the NAB Ordinance 1999 to the District Education Officers, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Literacy Department, Larkana, which became viral on social media.

 

The notice issued by Baqa Muhammad, Deputy Director (Coord), NAB, Sukkur, said that “the competent authority has taken the cognizance of the alleged offence(s) committed by officials of District Accounts Office, Larkana and others under the provisions of NAO, 1999”.

 

The notice further mentioned that investigation has revealed that your office is in possession of information/evidence, whatsoever, which relates to fake IDs hence you are requested to direct concerned DDOs to appear before Danish Iqbal, Assistant Director/IO, NAB, Sukkur, on 10th November 2020 at 1200 hours to record their statement as they are the custodians of record of all the employees along with original service books. The NAB has also sent the list of male, female teachers and other employees whose IDs have allegedly been detected suspected.

 

These teachers include High School Teachers (JSTs), Primary School Teachers (PSTs), Junior School Teachers (JSTs). Senior clerk, Workshop Instructor and an Inspector. The teachers are posted to work in all the four taluka of Larkana district.
