National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), a part of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, has successfully concluded its two-week National Faculty Development Programme Tier-II for Associate Professors from public sector universities in Sindh and Balochistan. The initiative aimed at equipping faculty members with skills to serve as Trainers of Trainers (TOT) was held at the HEC Regional Centre in Karachi.
According to a statement by Higher Education Commission today, the programme is designed to enhance the roles of educators as professional trainers across Pakistan. Nazeer Hussain, Director General of HEC Regional Centre, Karachi, welcomed Prof Dr Zia ul Qayyum, Executive Director of HEC, along with the participants. He commended the NAHE team for their dedication and efforts in making the programme successful.
Prof Dr Zia Ul-Qayyum, serving as the Chief Guest, praised NAHE’s initiative. He mentioned that NAHE is implementing the Faculty Development Programme in three tiers, with Tier-3 training for Lecturers and Assistant Professors already conducted in various universities. The Tier-2 programme aims to empower Associate Professors to become master trainers, facilitating the cascading of knowledge and skills across academic institutions.
The Executive Director highlighted the importance of the cascading process, which enables trained participants to share their knowledge and skills within their universities. He reaffirmed HEC’s commitment to promoting academic excellence nationwide and congratulated NAHE on the successful execution of its training initiatives.
Participants shared their feedback during the closing ceremony, noting the programme’s effectiveness in fostering professional development. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the attendees.
