NDMA Staff Answer Critical Call for Blood Donations in Lifesaving Initiative

Islamabad, 2-Feb-2026 (PPI): Stepping beyond its traditional disaster response role, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) organised a crucial blood donation drive on Monday to bolster the nation"s blood supply, a critical resource for emergency medical procedures, maternal care, and accident victims.

The initiative, orchestrated by NDMA"s Gender & Community Cell, took place at the authority"s headquarters and was conducted in partnership with the Life Savers Welfare Organization.

The event was framed as part of NDMA"s wider commitment to fostering community resilience and providing humanitarian support. Officers and personnel from the authority participated enthusiastically, with a significant turnout from various departments, reflecting a collective sense of civic duty.

Representatives from Life Savers managed the donation process, ensuring all standard health and safety protocols were strictly observed while offering guidance to the participants. The event concluded successfully, with the collected units poised to save lives.

The donated blood will be channelled through the Life Savers" network to support hospitals and patients requiring urgent transfusions across Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Life Savers Welfare Organization is a registered non-profit entity that has operated since 2010, focusing on blood donation, emergency response, and various public health and humanitarian services.
