KARACHI:National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Karachi administration Wednesday denies a report published in a section of newspaper regarding ex-Head of Cardiac Surgery Department Dr Pervaiz Chaudhry.
Spokesperson, NICVD, clarified that NICVD had a record of being very sensitive regarding COVID-19 patients. We ensure that COVID-19 does not spread among patients and staff member at NICVD, the spokesperson said.
“The proper protocols are implemented for this purpose. We only get COVID-19 patients with active cardiac problem and our results in managing these patients are excellent.” Administration does not think that any doctor or hospital administrator in the world will risk exposing his or her staff or patients to COVID-19.
He said Dr Pervaiz Chaudhry’s contract had expired, therefore, Dr Asad Bilal Awan who was the senior most surgeon in the department had been given the acting charge.
