Nurses hold demo for payment of three months salaries

QUETTA:Non-extension of contract period and non -payment of salaries irritated nurses who resorted to protest and staged a sit-in on Anscomb road Quetta on Wednesday.

Young Nursing Association staged a sit-in in the city, demanding extension of the contract period and release of salaries in favour of nurses. Nurses on the occasion said that neither their contract period had been extended nor they had received salaries for the last three months.

They said whenever they raised their voices for their legitimate rights, Health Department made lame excuses. They made it clear that their protest would continue until the acceptance of all their demands.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Civil Secretariat Officers Welfare Association has strongly condemned shelling on government employees in Islamabad and their detention.

A statement issued here on Wednesday with the signature of Muhammad Amin Badini, Vice President, BCSOWA said that such tactics did not demoralize employees rather will further bolster their movement.

The statement said that employees would not rest until all their legitimate demands were entertained by the authorities. It said that Balochistan Civil Secretariat Officers Welfare Association would not leave government employees alone in their struggle for the rights of government employees.
