An alleged dacoit was arrested in an injured condition after an exchange of fire with police in Federal B. Area on Wednesday morning, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
The encounter took place on Riaz Autos Street near UBL Sports Complex in Block 15 when the personnel confronted the suspected robbers.
During the exchange of fire, one of the assailants, identified by authorities as Talha son of Abdul Rauf, was injured and subsequently taken into custody. However, his accomplice managed to escape.
Law enforcement officials recovered a pistol with ammunition and three snatched mobile phones from the scene.
The injured suspect has been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment under police custody. Officials at the Joharabad police station have initiated further investigation into the matter.
