Shikarpur: An old person succumbed to his injuries while eight others injured in two separate road accidents occurred in the limit of Karan and New Faujdari police stations here on Sunday.
According to reports, one road passer identified as 60-year-old Muhammad Rakhiyal, son of Muhammad Bachal Buriro of village Salaar Buriro, was hit by a speedy car near Maari Sharif road in the limit of Karan police station.
The deceased person was taken to RBUT Civil hospital for medico legal formalities and then handed over to his heirs after completing postmortem examination. Car driver managed to flee from the scene of incident.
Similarly another road accident occurred near Zero Point on National Highway road when a speeding Hiace van hit motorcyclist in the limit of New Faujdari police station on Sunday.
Eight persons including Syed Akbar Shah, Allah Bux, Kamran Bhutto, Shakeel Ahmed and others received injured who were shifted to RBUT Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medical first aid.
The van driver disappeared from the scene of road accident while leaving the van on road. No FIR of any incident was registered till filing of this report. Area police said it has started their investigation and were searching for both drivers of the car and the van.
