A fierce gun battle erupted between law enforcement and suspected robbers in the Defence Phase 7 area on Saturday, leaving one alleged perpetrator dead and three individuals, including two police constables and a bystander, wounded.
The violent confrontation took place near Khayaban e Saadi following an exchange of fire between the police and the accused assailants.
The injured officials were identified as Police Constable Arslan Malik, son of Riyasat Ali, and Police Constable Shahzad, son of Javeed.
A 45-year-old passerby, named Rehmat, son of Ameer Khan, was also caught in the crossfire and sustained injuries. All three were reportedly wounded by shots fired by the suspects.
Emergency services shifted the deceased”s body and the injured individuals to a hospital for treatment and medico-legal procedures.
Officials from the Defence Police Station have confirmed that a further investigation into the matter is now underway.
