The protest movement demanding the construction of a new hospital has entered its 134th day today, with community leaders accusing elected representatives and health department officials of “great deception” for not taking action on the critical health needs of the city’s distressed residents.
The demonstration, organized by the Sajag Shehri Ittehad, highlighted the long campaign for the taluka hospital. The alliance, led by its president Comrade Muhammad Rafi Leghari, Sufi Ghaffar Channo, Asif Kathio, Ikhtiar Gunwans, and Didar Koker, recently held a protest demonstration during a signature campaign to advance their cause.
On this occasion, the leaders condemned the silence of the area’s MNA and MPA, as well as the senior hospital administration, on this serious health issue.
They clarified that the local population is severely affected by inadequate treatment facilities. The existing rural health center is suffering from a severe shortage of doctors and medicines, forcing people to make difficult journeys to other cities for necessary medical care.
The organizers have vowed that their struggle will continue uninterrupted until the construction of Taluka Hospital Nasirabad begins.
