Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi Criticizes Sindh Government’s Service Delivery

Sindh’s Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi delivered a pointed response to Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, highlighting significant governance issues across various sectors in the province.

In a statement issued from the office of the Leader of Oppision in Sindh Assembly here today, Khurshidi emphasized that clean drinking water remains inaccessible in all districts and union councils of Sindh, indicating a dire need for infrastructural improvements. He pointed out that the health sector would collapse without international aid, as major leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party seek treatment in Karachi’s private hospitals.

He cited a World Bank report stating Karachi requires 15,000 buses, yet only 400 have been provided after 17 years of governance, terming it a mere pittance. Khurshidi criticized the Sindh Building Control Authority for self-serving regulatory changes that have increased the urban decay. He also highlighted the province’s alarming security situation, from Karachi to Kashmore, and said that 7 million children are out of school.

Reflecting on the 2024 elections, Khurshidi mentioned that the urban populace has rejected the Pakistan Peoples Party, predicting a significant shift in the upcoming local body elections.
