Over 100 people, mostly children, are mute due to a hereditary disease in a Sakrand village

Over 100 mute individuals, the majority of whom are children, in the nearby village of Piyaro Chandio have appealed for help, stating they face severe hardships.

Communicating through sign language, residents said today that their condition is hereditary. They explained that marriages within the community result in their offspring also being born with the same speech disability, perpetuating the cycle of hardship.

The villagers have formally appealed for the provision of a special school to cater to their unique educational needs. Additionally, they have requested the establishment of a medical board for their diagnosis and potential treatment.

Financial assistance to improve their living conditions was also requested. The community has specifically directed their appeal to President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Faryal Talpur, and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari in the hope of a better future.
