A significant security operation involving more than 800 police officers and officials will be implemented to safeguard the South African cricket team during their upcoming tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Islamabad Capital Police said today that the extensive measures, which include the use of modern technology and surveillance drones, were finalized in a high-level conference led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security, Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider.
The meeting brought together senior police command from the twin cities and representatives from other law enforcement agencies to review and coordinate the security strategy for the important visit.
During the discussions, it was resolved that stringent security would be maintained in close cooperation with Rawalpindi Police and other security entities. The team’s movement routes are set to be monitored using advanced surveillance systems, and a commitment was made to strengthen coordination and information sharing among all involved agencies.
SSP Haider issued directives for comprehensive search operations to be conducted across the district prior to the team”s arrival. The Special Branch was instructed to gather intelligence and ensure prompt communication with the relevant authorities.
Furthermore, the SSP emphasized that only the most capable and well-trained staff would be assigned to security tasks. He mandated that all deployed personnel must be thoroughly briefed on the specific nature of their duties before their deployment.
Concluding the session, officials reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring a secure environment for the tour. The Islamabad Police stated that all possible measures would be taken to protect the visiting team, thereby upholding the nation”s reputation as a safe host for international events.
