The repatriation of undocumented Afghan residents from Pakistan has reached a significant milestone, with over 961,000 individuals now having exited the country.
This follows the expiration of the Pakistani Government’s deadline for voluntary departure, prompting a large-scale return initiative.
More than 7,138 undocumented Afghan nationals were recently sent back to Afghanistan, contributing to the total count of 961,704 departures. Authorities have intensified legal measures against those who remain illegally, including Afghan citizen card holders defying the exit orders.
The Pakistani Government remains committed to a dignified and orderly process for all involved, stressing that no individual will face mistreatment. To support the returnees, provisions for food and healthcare have been arranged during the transition back to Afghanistan.
