CM Balochistan strongly condemns killing of 11 people in Noshki

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of 11 people in Noshki, describing it a deplorable act of violence.

The chief minister in a statement, expressed grief over the loss of precious lives and prayed for peace to the departed souls, besides sympathizing with the bereaved families.

He said that the government will never let off those who shed blood of innocent people. He vowed to thwart the evil intentions of anti-state elements for maintaining peace in the province.

Murad orders admin to install 56 walk-through gates at Bhutto’s Mazar

KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah presiding over a meeting of the Mazar Committee instructed the police and the administration to make adequate arrangements for the security and traffic management of the public gathering that is scheduled to be held on April 14 at Garhi Khuda Bux to observe the death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The meeting was held at the CM House and was attended by Sharjeel Memo, Nasir Shah, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, and Chief Metrologist Sarfraz Khan. Minister Home Zia Lanjar, Minister Irrigation Jam Khan Shoro, Commissioner Larkana Mustafa Phul and Khair Mohammad Shaikh of PPP attended the meeting through video link.

The Chief Minister directed the administration of Larkana to increase the number of walk-through gates from 40 to 56 at the Mazar, ensuring easy access for the public attending the meeting. He also emphasized the need for appropriate traffic arrangements for the easy flow of people to and from the venue.

The CM was informed that separate entry and exit points have been designated for parking around the Mazar compound. Furthermore, Mr Shah instructed the District Larkana administration to liaise with HESCO to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the public meeting. Additionally, standby generators must be arranged to ensure backup power. The IG briefed the CM about the security arrangements and traffic management measures in place.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), town administration, water board, and other concerned agencies to ensure proper maintenance of stormwater drains and drainage systems in view of the forecast of thunderstorms. The aim is to ensure effective water disposal.

Mr Shah instructed the KMC and other concerned agencies to remove signboards, as well as other weak steel/wooden structures/boards, to prevent their collapse during the expected rains and heavy winds.

The Chief Minister has also directed the Chief Secretary to issue similar instructions to all local bodies and civic agencies throughout Sindh. Additionally, he has directed the police to assist the district administration all over Sindh in case of any eventuality.

The Chief Minister has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of four children in a wall collapse incident that occurred in the village of Ramzan Unar in New Saeedabad, District Matiari. The CM has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Matiari to visit the grieving family, assist them in burying their children, rebuild the collapsed wall, and offer his condolences to them.

Shah expressed his condolences over the deaths of two army men who were killed while conducting an operation against terrorists in Buner. He has also condemned the terrorist attack in Nishki, Balochistan, where innocent people were killed by terrorists.

Four children die in wall collapses near New Saeedabad

NEW SAEEDABAD: Four children die under the rubble of a house wall in a village near New Saeedabad, rescue sources said Saturday.

A dilapidated wall of a house in Ramzan Unar village in the vicinity of New Saeedabad in district Matiari fell on children, leaving four of them dead.

The police as well as local administration officials failed to reach to the spot even one hour after they were informed by the villagers.

Deceased children were identified as Hira 10 years, Zahoor 8 years, Abu Bakar 7 years and Ashraf, 6 years. Local people retrieved bodies of children on self-help basis, one hour after the incident.

At least six dead and four others sustained injuries when the roof of a house collapsed in Barmal Tehsil of South Waziristan last month.

The incident occurred in the Ragzai area of Barmal Tehsil where a roof collapse claimed the lives of six including two children, a woman and three men.

The rescue sources said that four others of the family who got injured in the roof collapse were shifted to the nearby hospital.

Sheikh voices concern over escalating violence in Karachi

KARACHI: PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh on Saturday strongly condemned the escalating violence in Karachi, particularly during the festive occasion of Eid.

Expressing deep concern, Mr Sheikh urged the government to take immediate action to address the deteriorating law and order situation in the city.

During Eid days in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi, separate incidents of robbery resulted in the deaths of two citizen, as Syed Tarab Zahidi was killed during an attempted robbery near Gulshan Chorangi, while Major Saad was murdered in a similar incident a few days earlier.

Mr Sheikh visited the homes of Tarab Zahidi and Major Saad to offer condolences. Sheikh expressed sympathy to both families and gathered details of the incidents. On the occasion, PTI leaders Agha Arslan, Advocate Nazirullah Mahsood, Faizan, Kashif Zaidi, and others were present.

While talking to media, Sheikh lamented the tragic incidents that occurred during Eid celebrations, resulting in the loss of innocent lives. He highlighted the recent killings of Syed Tarab Zahidi and Major Saad in separate robbery incidents, emphasizing the need for swift justice for the victims and their families.

Sheikh criticized the authorities for their failure to apprehend the perpetrators of these crimes, which have left Karachi residents feeling unsafe in their own city. He called on the government to prioritize the safety and security of citizens and to ensure that those responsible for such heinous acts are brought to behind the bars.

Furthermore, Mr Sheikh expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased and pledged to support them during this difficult time. He emphasized the importance of providing immediate financial assistance to the orphaned children left behind by the victims.

Reiterating his commitment to fighting corruption and electoral fraud, he called on the public to join him in demanding accountability from politicians who have betrayed the trust of the people. He urged the Chief Justice to intervene and address the growing lawlessness in Karachi, emphasizing that justice must prevail.

Over 3000 Sikh Yatrees arrive in Pakistan for Besakhi Mela

ISLAMABAD: Over three thousand Sikh yatrees from India arrived Pakistan through Wagha border today to participate in Besakhi Mela, according to an official report on Saturday.

The officials of Evacuee Trust Property Board received the yatrees. During their stay in Pakistan, yatrees will visit their religious places at Hassanabdal, Nankana Sahib, Narowal, Eminabad and Badami Bagh Lahore, through special trains.

All the arrangements including accommodation, security, transport and medical for yatrees have been completed by ETPB.

Talking to the newsmen at the Wagah border, Party leader Kulant Singh and Deputy Party Leader Amarjit Singh thanked the government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board and said that they are very happy to come to Pakistan.

They said that millions of Sikhs are eager to come to Pakistan for the yatra.

The main event of Baisakhi Mela will be held tomorrow at Gurudwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal. The Sikh pilgrims will return to India after completing their 10-day pilgrimage on twenty-second of this month.

IIOJK Congress slams BJP regime for snatching Kashmiris’ rights

JAMMU: The Congress chapter in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has lashed out at the BJP led Indian government for snatching rights of the people in the territory.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report, the IIOJK Congress working president Raman Bhalla addressing various public meetings in Sunderbani area of Rajouri said that the BJP regime has betrayed people by snatching their rights and Statehood.

He said New Delhi deprived people of livelihood, snatching the lands of farmers, taking away rights of land and jobs and trade of locals in the territory. He added that price rise is at peak and unemployment has crossed all records.

He said that the Modi regime insulted the J and K people by downgrading historical State and depriving them of Assembly elections for more than five years to run the territory through bureaucrats.
