Khanty-Mansiysk, Pakistan has expressed a strong interest in forging partnerships in the information technology sector with Russia. Pakistani Ambassador Mr. Muhammad Khalid Jamali highlighted this initiative during his speech at the International IT Forum in Khanty-Mansiysk on June 18.
According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Jamali detailed the strengths of Pakistan’s IT landscape, including over 2,000 companies and 300,000 English-speaking professionals, alongside the annual production of more than 20,000 IT graduates and engineers from Pakistani universities. He emphasized that the establishment of Special Technology Zones (STZ) in Pakistan aims to attract investment and introduce advanced technology to the nation. Jamali also stressed the importance of creating ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks to ensure that technological advancements benefit society and contribute to public welfare.
The Ambassador’s call for joint cooperation in IT with Russia underscores the potential for technology to enhance social welfare and environmental sustainability, particularly in sectors like education, healthcare, and public services. “We are confident that by working together with our Russian counterparts, we can leverage the IT sector to address social and environmental challenges,” Jamali stated, outlining the vision for a collaborative future between the two countries.
