Pakistan has officially revised its national list of controlled goods, tightening regulations on the export of technologies, materials, and equipment pertinent to nuclear and biological weapons and their associated delivery systems.
The notification was issued by the Strategic Export Control Division under the authority of the Export Control on Goods, Technologies, Material and Equipment related to Nuclear and Biological Weapons and their Delivery Systems Act, 2004, according to an official report today.
This latest amendment ensures Pakistan”s regulations are in continuous harmonisation with the control lists maintained by key international bodies, including the Nuclear Suppliers Group, the Missile Technology Control Regime, and the Australia Group.
According to the official announcement, the revision is part of a regular review process undertaken by the Strategic Export Control Division. This procedure is designed to ensure the nation”s controls remain effective, up-to-date, and congruent with international standards.
The notification stated that the action underscores Pakistan”s resolve to strengthen its export control regime, reaffirming its commitment to non-proliferation objectives and the fulfilment of its international obligations as a responsible state holding advanced technologies.
The updated and comprehensive control lists have been formally published in the Gazette of Pakistan and are accessible to the public on the Strategic Export Control Division”s official website, secdiv.gov.pk.
