In a significant diplomatic development, the Government of Pakistan today declared a staff member of the High Commission of India in Islamabad as persona non grata, directing the official to leave the country within 24 hours.

The action was taken based on allegations of engaging in activities inconsistent with the individual’s diplomatic status, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Indian Chargé d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where Pakistan’s decision was formally communicated. Officials emphasized the expectation that all diplomats and staff members of the Indian High Commission adhere strictly to their privileges and status, avoiding any form of misuse.
