The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a mixed trading session today, with key indices showing moderate gains. Official data showed the KSE100 index advanced by 197.98 points to close at 114,528.09, up from its previous level of 114,330.10. This represented a percentage increase of 0.17 percent.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange, In the broader market, the KSEALLSHR index also registered an increase, closing at 70,985.54, a rise of 127.37 points, or 0.18 percent, from its previous position of 70,858.17. The KSE30 index saw a similar trend, climbing 86.46 points to settle at 35,698.95, translating to a 0.24 percent increase.
Other indices reflected mixed movements with the KMI30 gaining 123.50 points to reach 172,487.21, while the KMIALLSHR index improved by 91.22 points, ending at 48,977.31. The BKTI index noted a substantial gain of 177.95 points, closing at 26,074.84, and the OGTI increased by 132.96 points to 26,793.82.
The market turnover stood at 495.98 million shares, marking a notable increase from the previous 455.53 million shares. The traded value escalated to 29.36 billion PKR, up from 25.89 billion PKR. Market capitalization slightly increased to 14.13 trillion PKR from 14.10 trillion PKR.
The top ten companies in terms of turnover included Fauji Cement, which saw a turnover of 61.09 million shares, closing at 41.46 PKR after opening at 42.94 PKR. Maple Leaf Cement had a turnover of 33.83 million shares, finishing at 51.13 PKR. At-Tahur Ltd. closed at 29.08 PKR with a turnover of 23.91 million shares.
In terms of price increases, Hoechst Pakistan Limited saw the highest uptick, surging by 194.00 PKR to close at 3,194.00 PKR. Conversely, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited led the decliners, dropping by 42.75 PKR to end at 9,323.00 PKR. The Thal Industries Corporation Limited and Pakistan Services Limited also recorded significant declines, closing at 386.04 PKR and 1,080.21 PKR, respectively.
The futures market reflected significant turnover with 332.59 million shares traded, up from 226.94 million shares, and a traded value of 19.43 billion PKR, an increase from 17.62 billion PKR.
Overall, the PSX exhibited moderate growth, with notable activity in both the ready and future markets, reflecting an active trading session.
