Pakistan Voices Hope for Myanmar’s Elections in Push for Stronger Bilateral Ties

Pakistan has articulated its desire for peace and stability in Myanmar, expressing hope that the nation’s forthcoming general elections will contribute to development and inclusive governance, during high-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

The sentiment was conveyed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during delegation-level discussions with Myanmar’s Foreign Minister, Than Swe, at the Foreign Office in the capital, according to a report today.

Both nations expressed a firm resolve to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar underscored that Pakistan greatly values its enduring friendship with Myanmar, noting that the relationship between the two countries is founded on a basis of history and reciprocal respect.

He elaborated on Pakistan’s eagerness to bolster these relations through structured, ongoing engagement and initiatives designed to produce tangible outcomes.

In his remarks, Foreign Minister Than Swe affirmed that his country would collaborate with Pakistan to promote cooperation across various sectors. He voiced optimism that the meeting would serve as a foundation for future joint efforts.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Foreign Office, the visiting dignitary was warmly received by his Pakistani counterpart.
