Pakistan has formally reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with Japan as the new ambassador, Abdul Hameed, officially commenced his diplomatic mission after presenting his credentials to the Emperor of Japan.
In an elegant ceremony at the Imperial Palace on Thursday, Ambassador Hameed presented his Letter of Credence, signaling the formal start of his tenure. According to a statement released Friday, the new envoy conveyed warm greetings from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister to the Emperor.
Following the formal presentation, the ambassador articulated Pakistan’s dedication to further deepening the friendship and expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two nations. The move is anticipated to advance bilateral relations across political, economic, and cultural spheres.
The high-profile event was attended by senior officials from both countries. The Pakistani delegation included Economic Minister Syed Irfan Abbas Shah, Defence Attaché Air Cdre. Yashir Shafiq Malik, and other key counsellors and attachés from the embassy.
Representing the Japanese government was Mr. Ryosei Akazawa, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, whose presence underscored the importance of the economic partnership between Tokyo and Islamabad.
