Pakistan’s Inaugural Horizontal Well Triples Traditional Output with 460 Barrels Daily

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has initiated extraction from Pakistan”s first-ever horizontal oil well, a development that yields an output nearly three times greater than the nation”s conventional drilling operations.

The new site, designated Pasakhi-13 and located in the Hyderabad district of Sindh, is now producing 460 barrels of oil per day, according to an official report today.

According to the state-owned enterprise, the significant increase in yield from this pioneering project is a direct result of the application of modern technology.

This achievement is part of a broader national strategy, guided by the SIFC, aimed at transitioning the country”s energy sector toward modernization, stability, and long-term self-sufficiency.
