Pashtun Culture Day celebrated

Pashtun Culture Day was celebrated in different parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, on Monday with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

Various cultural events and musical performances were organized in different cities of the province including Quetta, Pishin, Loralai, Chaman, Musakhail, Killa Abdullah, Ziarat, Killa Saifullah, Muslim Bagh, Zhob, Harnai, Duki and other Pashtun-dominated areas of the province to mark the day. Pashtun men, women and children wore traditional attire as they took part in the festivities.

Attan, a Pashtun community traditional dance, was also performed at the events to mark the day. A ceremony under the auspices of Pushtunkhwa National Awami Party was held in the lawn of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation-QMC where stalls were set up, highlighting Pashtun culture, history and contribution of Pushtun nation to the country’s uplift and landmark achievements. Similarly, Pushtun cultural festival was arranged in Sadiq Kasi Shaheed football ground by Pushtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, setting up different stalls to highlight history and culture of Pushtun nation.

In order to mark Pushtun culture day, Pushtun Cultural Forum organised an event at Railway Darbar Marriage Hall Quetta. Separately, function was also held at the university of Balochistan to mark the day. Pushtun students, boys and girls, wore traditional attire to mark the day.
