PITB to assist NAVTTC partner institutions for e-Rozgaar Training

Lahore, October 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): For provision of technical expertise in introducing ‘e-Rozgaar’ as a new trade discipline across Pakistan, a Memorandum of Understanding between National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was signed here today. Through this initiative NAVTTC and PITB shall assist the youth in earning a sustainable income through jobs online. Dr Umar Saif, Chairman PITB and Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema Executive Director NAVTTC signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under this project at least 5,000 young Under Graduates under a 6 months Computer and Freelancing Course and at least 8,000 Graduates under a 3 months Computer and Freelancing Course will be trained over a period of one year. This partnership aims to establish e-Rozgaar freelancing NAVTTC’s approved Centers in Pakistan to provide training to Under Graduates and Graduates of young individuals in the trade of freelancing.

“eRozgaar Program” has so far trained more than 3500 candidates in Punjab who have earned foreign exchange equivalent to more than 50 million rupees through online working. On this occasion Dr. Umar Saif founding Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU) the Punjab and Chairman, PITB said that the program empowered the youth to create jobs for themselves in technical, non-technical and creative areas rather than to seek for it.

In freelancing Pakistan stood third among the World community by earning around US $ One Billion while this MoU with NAVTTC would scale up the project across Pakistan and thousands of more young people would be able to earn handsome amount working at their homes, he added. Both Institutions envision to minimize unemployment and provide the youth of Pakistan with necessary knowledge and expertise to earn an honourable income online through training to work on freelancing portals like Fiverr, Upwork etc.

It shall be done in collaboration with institutions and organizations that share the same vision. PITB will act as the knowledge sponsoring entity for the Training Program. PITB will provide the content and curriculum of training/workshops to be held at the Centers. It will also be responsible to provide consultation on design and execution of the entire process of the training program.

PITB will also provide Master Trainers who will train the trainers to be provided by Party B. The trainers shall in turn impart training at the Centers. NAVTTC will act as the executive body for administrative purposes, and shall manage the Centers under stipulated arrangements with partner training institutes. NAVTTC will design and execute the entire process of the training program. It will provide trainers who will teach the required contents in each Center. NAVTTC will take measures to monitor each Centre in collaboration with PITB.
