The district administration of Okara has initiated measures from Tuesday for tree plantation along the city’s roadsides, installation of lights, elimination of wall chalking, and improvement of the sanitation system, focusing on upgrading key infrastructure and public spaces.
Under the directives of Okara’s Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed, the initiative is prioritizing the beautification of major highways, parks, green belts, and bazaars.
Chief Officer District Council Fida Iftikhar Mir, who is inspecting the arrangements, confirmed that ongoing activities include roadside plantation, installation of new lighting, elimination of wall chalking, and a major overhaul of the sanitation system.
According to the Chief Officer, special teams are monitoring on a daily basis to ensure the successful implementation of these measures and to provide residents with a clean and pleasant environment.
In a statement, Mr. Mir said that the city’s appearance not only contributes to environmental improvement but also directly elevates the quality of life for the public. The public has been appealed to support the administration in its cleanliness and city beautification efforts.
The CO District Council added that improvement projects at all entry and exit points of the city, parks, and other public places are being completed in phases, and special teams have been formed to monitor their progress.
