Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today affirmed the government’s priority to provide equal opportunities for HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, and care to the nation’s most vulnerable and marginalized communities, in a message marking World AIDS Day.
The prime minister stated that the administration is dedicated to strengthening the efficiency of the national health system and ensuring its reach to all citizens. He remarked that this year, the day is being observed under the theme ‘Overcoming Barriers and Changing the Attitude Towards AIDS’.
Sharif emphasized that ensuring access to treatment, adopting modern medical facilities, and promoting cooperation at the community level can help change societal perspectives regarding the condition.
The federal government, in collaboration with provincial governments, is committed to ensuring that initiatives at the local level yield meaningful results, he added.
