MANDI BAHAUDDIN:Police arrested a robber in injured condition and recovered a pistol, a snatched motorcycle, some cash, and a mobile phone from his possession in an encounter near here on Wednesday.
According to police, a gang of three robbers stopped Nazakat Ali, a resident of Mouza Dhal, at gunpoint when he was returning from Mandi Bahauddin market and snatched his wallet, a mobile phone and a motorcycle followng which they fled toward Khohar area.
On information, SHO Liaquat Hussain and Sub Inspector Shabir Ahmed, leading a police team, chased the criminals and had an encounter with them in which one robber, Iftikhar alias Dhona, was overpowered while his two accomplices managed to flee.
The injured robber was shifted to a local hospital for treatment. The police conducted a search operation to arrest his two fleeing accomplices. The arrested accused was wanted in murder and robbery cases, said police.
