A suspected robber was taken into custody in an injured condition after an exchange of fire with law enforcement officers near Landi Kotal Chowrangi in the Gulberg area of Karachi Central on Tuesday.
The encounter occurred when police confronted the alleged robbers, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between both sides.
Officials from the Gulberg police station later identified the arrested individual as Ashmal Ali, son of Shakir Ali. He was the only suspect apprehended during the incident.
A pistol with ammunition and some cash were recovered upon searching the suspect.
The injured person has been moved to a medical facility for treatment under police custody. A formal investigation has been launched to ascertain further details.
