An alleged dacoit was shot and killed during a deadly encounter with the police in Jodia Bazaar on Monday, while his accomplice managed to escape the scene and remains at large.
The incident occurred near Jodia Bazaar when officers confronted two suspected criminals. The situation escalated into an exchange of fire, resulting in the death of one suspect.
Following the shootout, authorities secured the scene and recovered a pistol along with ammunition.
The body of the deceased has been moved to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The Kharadar police have initiated a formal investigation into the incident, and a search is underway for the second individual who fled during the encounter. Further investigation is in progress.
