Two suspected robbers were arrested in an injured condition following an exchange of fire with law enforcement personnel near Jamali Bridge in the Sohrab Goth area on Thursday.
The encounter occurred when officers on patrol stopped the individuals. According to a statement from the Sachal Police Station, the accused initiated firing, prompting the authorities to retaliate, which resulted in both individuals being injured.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Yasir son of Shakir and Taha son of Naveed. They were taken into custody immediately after the encounter.
Upon searching the accused, two pistols with rounds, a stolen mobile phone, and a motorcycle used in criminal activities were recovered.
The injured suspects have been moved to a medical facility for treatment under police custody. Authorities have initiated further investigations into the incident and the suspects’ potential involvement in other cases in District East.
