Police kill three proclaimed offenders in Sangla Hill shootout

ISLAMABAD: Three alleged dacoits were killed while three others managed to escape in an encounter with the police in Sangla Hill, police said Thursday.

According to the police, slain dacoits were proclaimed offenders (POs) who were wanted in the case of firing at a police constable 15 days ago besides dozens of other heinous crimes in Sangla Hill and Faisalabad.

They informed that Shehbaz alias Neela and his accomplices had fired bullets at Constable Mujahid on October 10 due to which he got injured. When police came to know about the presence of Shehbaz in the area, they raided his hideout.

On seeing the cops, the Force explained, the robbers opened fire at them. The cops retaliated as a result of which Shehbaz and his two accomplices namely Naveed Kahlun and Wasim Gul died on the spot, the police elaborated. The bodies were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Sangla Hill for the post-mortem.
