Faisalabad, August 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):The power sector is playing an important role in the development and promotion of national sports, no doubt, that sports play a key role in building a healthy body and society, so the promotion of sports is essential. Friendly matches are a good tradition in which the players transfer their experiences to each other and both teams gain practical experience, said Chief Executive FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed while addressing an opening ceremony of the friendly series of handball matches between Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) and Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) here today.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MEPCO Ullah Yar Bharwana said that players of the power sector have always made the country and the company famous by winning awards at the national and international levels. He said that all possible measures will be adopted to encourage the sportsmen, this event is a proof of this and such activities will be continued in the future for the promotion of sports. He further said that the services of FESCO and MEPCO in the promotion of sports are unforgettable. Power sector has always been a wonderful nursery for promotion of sports and development of sports activities.
At this occasion, Secretary FESCO Sports Association Athar Ayub Chaudhry appreciated the organization of such healthy activity by FESCO and MEPCO and said that these competitions will play an important role in bringing out the hidden talent in the departments. He further said that the promotion of sports among various units of WAPDA helps to develop sportsmanship among the employees. The friendly handball match between MEPCO and FESCO was tied with 22 goals against 22.
