Pakistan Day will be celebrated across the country on Monday to renew the commitment to realize the vision of establishing an Islamic welfare state as envisioned by the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day is celebrated to commemorate the historic Lahore Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, which formally presented the agenda for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
The day will formally begin with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.
After Fajr prayers, special prayers will be offered in mosques across the country for the progress and prosperity of the country.
State broadcasters Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television will broadcast special programs to highlight the importance of the day and pay tribute to the personalities of the Pakistan Movement.
On this occasion, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army has released a special national song “Meri Mitti Meri Jaan, Pakistan Zindabad”.
This song has been described as a manifestation of the patriotism and national unity of the Pakistani people.
