President Alvi chairs review meeting on coronavirus

KARACHI:President Dr Arif Alvi presided over a high level review meeting on government measures related to coronavirus at the Governor House.

Expressing his satisfaction over the government’s initiatives on coronavirus, President Dr Arif Alvi said that on the occasion of Eid, the people followed the SOPs in a good manner which was a success of the government’s strategy. He said that with the cooperation of the government and the people, the epidemic would be brought under control soon. The president appealed to the people to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that the people showed utmost caution during Eid which was commendable. He said that implementation of masks, sanitizers and social distance can prevent the spread of coronavirus. Steps taken by the federal government in this regard were laudable, he added.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Federal Ministers Asad Umar, Ali Haider Zaidi, Senator Saif Abro, Member National Assembly J. Prakash and MPAs Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Khurram Sher Zaman and others.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar briefed the meeting in detail about the progress and future strategies of the government on coronavirus and said that due to better measures taken by the government, there was a significant reduction in coronavirus cases.
