The Islamabad-Murree Expressway is poised for its official opening by the Prime Minister, following a final inspection of the nearly completed development works by Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, on Wednesday.

During his visit, the minister conveyed his approval of the extensive upgrades, praising the National Highway Authority (NHA) for elevating the crucial roadway, which serves hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, to international standards.

The project was undertaken to provide a safer, smoother, and more comfortable travel experience for commuters heading to the nation”s most frequented hill station.

Key enhancements to the expressway include the installation of a comprehensive, state-of-the-art lighting system to significantly improve nighttime visibility and safety for travelers.

Security and traffic management have also been reinforced through the deployment of Motorway Police, who will be responsible for ensuring orderly traffic flow and providing assistance to commuters along the entire route.

Furthermore, new, fully equipped rest areas have been established at various points to offer necessary facilities and comfort to the public. Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan confirmed that the project is in its final stages and stated that the initiative demonstrates the government”s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure, promoting tourism, and ensuring public convenience.
