Proclaimed offender wanted in murder case transferred to Pakistan after arrest in Saudi Arabia

Proclaimed offender Muhammad Waqas, wanted in a murder case, was successfully brought back to Pakistan on Tuesday after being arrested in Saudi Arabia, ending a two-year international manhunt.

The accused, who had been sought by the Punjab Police for the past two years, was arrested and transferred to Islamabad Airport to face legal proceedings.

The successful arrest of the fugitive was made possible through a Red Notice issued by the National Central Bureau (NCB) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which formally requested Interpol’s assistance in locating and apprehending him.

As a result of international cooperation between the agencies, the individual was arrested in the Kingdom, after which he was handed over to the Pakistani authorities.
