The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling by 755.40 points to close at 116,020.11 amid widespread selling across sectors.
The KSE-30 Index also lost 242.79 points, settling at 35,606.48. During the session, the KSE-100 index touched an intraday high of 117,424.04 and a low of 115,776.12.
Market activity remained robust with the regular market recording a turnover of 481.81 million shares, valued at Rs38.53 billion. The futures market posted a volume of 126.56 million shares with a traded value of Rs10.78 billion.
The total market capitalization stood at Rs14.19 trillion, down from Rs14.29 trillion in the previous session.
Out of 451 companies traded in the ready market, 140 advanced, 260 declined, while 51 remained unchanged. In the futures market, 57 companies ended higher, 261 declined, and 4 remained unchanged.
Among stocks with the highest turnover, Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with over 35.6 million shares traded, closing at Rs8.51. Bank of Punjab followed with 25.48 million shares, ending at Rs11.11.
Other actively traded scrips included Fauji Foods (Rs15.91), PSO (Rs384.51), K-Electric (Rs4.43), Citi Pharma (Rs96.24), and Pak Refinery (Rs34.51).
Notably, At-Tahur Ltd. recorded a closing price of Rs52.81 after touching the session high, with a traded volume exceeding 13.1 million shares.
