LAHORE: Punjab government Monday allowed the health department for ad hoc appointment of doctors and nurses to meet the acute shortage of health providers in the public health facilities across the province.

According to a report on Monday, the Punjab government has issued a notification for lifting a ban on ad-hoc recruitment of doctors and nurses in the province. The notification said both the health departments, Specialized Health and Primary Health, are allowed to fill the vacant posts of doctors and nurses on an ad-hoc basis.
